Reading reflection on Steven Fry "An Open Letter to David Cameron and the IOC"
Steven Fry appeals to the IOC for a peaceful upcoming Olympic Game in Sochi, Russia, 2014. The historical examples along with personal examples alert many of the readers including me. Though the LGBT rights have been taken seriously even before this, in some countries, the politicians are not respectful enough in terms of what they have passed in law- Putin became one of them where he outlawed all the defense of homosexuality in Russia. Personally, I have trans-gender friends. I never thought they were someone different than myself. The more I became closer friends with them I started to realize that the gay rights are not being pushed all around the world in some other countries, whereas Canada has been always helpful and understandable on them so that people like me never knew their poor situation elsewhere. I support the LGBT rights, I would strongly appeal to the IOC to let the glorious five rings shine not let it stain by any “evils” against the humanity.

Reading reflection on "Once upon a time "
From reading the story "Once upon a time "by Nadine Gordimer, the fueling sentiment of the racism and segregation within South Africa really had a big impact on me. I think the author made connections of her creaking feelings of the "intruder in her house" to the fences they've built to protect themselves from the riots and "people of another color". The parents, the witch ,and the child were all the products of the society. They did not know what the reason was to protect them from the outside world, though they would rather spend money and time to be like the neighborhood. I was more encouraged to not simply follow the conventions but to know where the right way is on my life road.
